The Langen Foundation is located within the Missile Station Hombroich, one of NATO's former bases and part of the Hombroich culture area. The new building, opened in 2004, contain the Viktor and Marianna Langen collection which spans almost five hundred Japanese artworks and three hundred contemporary works. The Japanese collection is both in its size and quality unique in Europe; a representative collection of Japanese art from the 12th to 20th century. The art and exhibition halls was built in accordance with plans by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
